New Plymouth Boys’ High School is a proud tennis school with a long history of competing with some of the best schools in New Zealand. The school season goes from February to April.

Super 8 Tournament
The best boys’ school’s in the central North Island compete in this 3-day tournament to find the Super 8 Champion.

The pinnacle of the season, a week-long tournament (subject to qualification).

Coaching and playing experience:
- 4 years on a full tennis scholarship in Texas.
- Named in the All-American team.
- Highest rank - number 2 in the U.S with Swedish doubles partner.
- 3 Taranaki Open titles And provincial titles in Otago, Canterbury, Tasman, Wellington and Manawatu.
- Played in the NZ National league - a top 10 NZ tennis player.
- National singles and doubles titles in the over 40's.
- Coached two seasons in Germany.
- Coached in a large Japanese Tennis Academy.
Pukekura Park Tennis Club (5 minutes away) is Taranaki’s largest tennis club and provides significant advantages for people of all abilities to play and improve. Our central location - next to native bush on the edge of Pukekura Park - and our history give the club a unique position in New Plymouth. Established in 1910, we have 10 tennis courts - seven are astro turf and three plexipave courts under lights.
In 2012-13 the club was named Tennis NZ Club of the Year.
